I am not a huge fan of repetition. I'm easily bored with having to do the same thing over and over again. That's probably my issue with doing most housework!
And don't even get me started on repetitive noises. Just ask my children about their days of bouncing balls in the house or drumming their fingers on the dinner table. Nearly drove me over the edge!
But there is some repetition that is good news. In Hebrews 9, we see the repetitive appearance of Christ.
In verse 11, He appears as our High Priest. In verse 24, He appears in heaven for us.
And in verse 28, He will appear on earth a second time to bring salvation.
...so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.Hebrews 9:28 (NIV)
The Message says it like this,
...instead he sacrificed himself once and for all, summing up all the other sacrifices in this sacrifice of himself, the final solution of sin.Hebrews 9:28 (MSG)
He is the final solution for sin.
No repetition needed.
